Divya Spandana AKA Ramya, born on November 29, 1981 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. She did her schooling in Ooty (Tamil Nadu) & then earned her collegiate Bengaluru. She always had the passion of participating in stage plays and dance shows from her grade school days.

Divya made her cinematic debut with Kannada movie 'Abhi' starring against Puneet Rajkumar adopting her screen name 'Ramya' for superstitional reasons. Ramya with repetitious success in all her movies was considered the 'Golden Girl' in the Kannada Film Industry.

Ramya made her debut in Kollywood with the Tamil film 'Kuthu' opposite Little Superstar 'Simbhu' which got her famous as 'Kuthu Ramya' though the movie bombed at the box office. Her chances with 'Giri' alongside Action King 'Arjun' didn't do any good for in Kollywood and continued reigning the Kannada fans.

Ramya has got looks and curves & she doesn't hesitate to flaunt or exhibit without breaching the scale of being sensual. She is one of the most beautiful actess in the Kannada film Industry and is very successful with a success rate of 90% in her career.
Ramya thought being the 'Golden Girl' in the Kannada Film Industry was not well received in Kollywood until re-entry in kollywood with the screen name 'Divya'. 'Kuthu Ramya' of Kollywood made her re-rentry into tamil films as Divya with 'Polladhavan' opposite Dhanush which turned out to be one of the biggest hits in 2007 that earned praises for the entire crew.

Diya was then noticed in 'Thoondil' opposite Shyam playing an obsessed lover with a negative shade and got rave reviews for her role as the movie wasn't very well received at cinemas.

Divya is soon to be seen in Gautham Menon's next 'Varanam Ayiram' that builds high hopes for the lovely damsel. The movie will have 'Divya' adopting the screen name 'Divya Spandana' her real name which is believed to have brought her more luck in getting hi-fling roles.
